QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, child development or related field is preferred.  Minimum of two years professional work with children and families required, Boys & Girls Club program leadership preferred. Excellent customer service with an ability to engage youth/teens a must.   Demonstrated experience in successful grant management preferred.   Must be able to establish and maintain supportive working relationships with team, the public, service groups, facility users, and community stakeholders.  Prior experience working in a tribal setting preferred. Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability as well as a three-year motor vehicle report required. Background check required.  Current First Aid, CPR required within 6 months of hire with an ability to obtain either Lifeguard or Water Watcher Certification. Must be available during the days/evenings/weekend hours of the Native Services Boys & Girls Club programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform and manage every aspect of youth programming utilizing BGCA curriculum in support to programmatic goals and objectives. ,
  • Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled/assigned, in the absence of the Manager.
  • Actively work aside Boys & Girls Club staff, in support to youth staff and programming assisting with projects.
  • Responsible for implementing activities as outlined in grant funding, tracking and reporting outcome.
  • Ability to assist in hiring process of new staff by participating on the interview panel as requested, providing hiring recommendations
  • It is the responsibility of the supervisor to support Manager in documenting actions taken to address an employee performance deficiencies, behavior, and/or violation of policies and procedures.
  • Supervisor will provide feedback and input for 90-day/annual staff evaluations.
  • Ability to perform and report on the purpose, priorities and objectives of program grant initiatives to the community, stakeholders, and funders
  • Collaborate with teen services staff on activities in support of substance misuse and suicide education/prevention.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of compliance related to HIPAA, confidentiality and patient rights to support behavioral health integration of services into Wellness Services programming.
  • Acts as a contact for Boys & Girls Club youth/teen programming to ensure that individuals, community agencies and groups are aware of the available resources to deliver and participate in mental health and substance use disorder activities.
  • Adheres to departmental and organizational approved protocols and procedures ensuring safety of members and staff.
  • Assists Boys & Girls Club Manager in development and recommendations for policy & procedures.
  • Supports Behavioral Health, acting as a liaison between youth/teen programming and Behavioral Health, keeping Boys & Girls Club staff abreast of planning and supports available/needed for members.
  • Assists Manager with the incorporation of behavioral health supportive/clinical services available during Boys & Girls Club programming.
  • Maintains knowledge of trauma informed care and teaches/coaches co-workers in trauma-informed approaches to youth programming and implementation by staff responses to behavior in alignment with organization approach.
  • Maintains knowledge in evidence based programs and demonstrates ability to maintain fidelity of a program as facilitator or co-facilitator of Marimn Health Boys & Girls Club authorized teen “Club” sessions/classes
  • Assists Boys & Girls Club Manager with Grants, working closely with Finance and Grant Department staff to ensure proper management and administration of grant funds, keeping Boys & Girls Club Manager abreast of programming/grant data adhering to reporting timelines.
  • Familiar with and abides by grant procurement and other federal requirements as outlined in Notices of Award.
  • Maintains proper documentation for the approval and administration of grant funds.
  • Provides assistance to Boys & Girls Club Manager, ensuring quarterly reports to the Wellness Services Director on the progress of BGCA Specific Grant activities including objectives, strategies and issues.
  • Ability to effectively interact with supervisor, staff and other Tribal Departments.
  • Verbal, non-verbal and written communication is professional and appropriate.
  • Excellent public relations skills.
  • Ability to organize and present information to share within meeting setting with stakeholders and community partners.
  • Actively participates in Quality Improvement (QI) activities related to Club memberships and is knowledgeable of QI activities related to the departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding staff development/program development and collaborative service delivery both internal and external.
  • Support Boys & Girls Club Manager in representing educational workshops for BGCA members/family/community in support of grant goals and objectives/community needs.
  • Supports BGCA Manager with daily oversight of staff scheduling accuracy with an ability to coach staff on time and attendance/rotations in support of daily club activities/programming.
  • Supports BGCA Manager with novatime corrections by ensuring staff utilize timeclock system and request corrections in adherence with Marimn Time & Attendance Policy and Procedure.
  • Assist BGCA Manager with staff scheduling and daily programming recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
