QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 3 years Federal grant writing experience in the health field or a closely related area, preferably in a Tribal and/or Community Health Center.  Must have a proven track record of success in securing grants funding from multiple sources.  Proficiency in the use of computer applications, especially Word, Excel and Power Point required.  Knowledge of primary health care is highly desired.  Accounting experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service assistance, providing knowledgeable and appropriate information to customers.

  • Continuously research new grant & funding opportunities.
  • Prepares grant applications completely and within deadlines, including budget.
  • Stays informed and up-to-date regarding funding opportunities at the local, regional, state & national levels.
  • Seeks appropriate input from the organization’s management & staff during development of grant application and seeks same input in order to strategically pursue potential opportunities.
  • Responsible for compliance with grants funding source reporting (progress and financial reports) and requirements.
  • Ensures the timely and accurate completion of all necessary reports as required.
  • Assist with the review and update of policies and procedures to ensure grant and regulatory compliance.
  • Works with and mentors staff who are grant funded program managers to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Acts as Project Director/Principle Investigator for all awarded grants/contract.
  • Promotes a positive image of the organization at all times.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with funding sources, program participants and other agencies as appropriate.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and the Community.
  • Assists the Tribe and Tribal Departments in their funding searches and proposal preparation, when requested and approved by Finance Director.
  • Understands/respects/practices confidentiality in representing the organization across multiple organizations.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of strategic and business plans.
  • Provides consultation and technical assistance to Administration and Managers in areas of expertise.
  • Serves as part of the Administrative/Management Team.
  • Seeks opportunities to network/collaborate with Tribal departments, other community health centers, health departments, and colleges/ universities.
  • Obtains company administrative pre-approval before initiating projects which may require formal networking/collaborative relationships.
  • Is in compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Carries out other projects and assignments as directed by the Finance Director/CEO that may be in the best interest of the organization.
