QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology or related field, Licensed Master’s Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required. Graduates from APA accredited programs in clinical or counseling psychology seeking postdoctoral supervised training are also encouraged to apply. Experience working in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare preferred.  Experience with Substance Use Disorder Counseling preferred.  Prior experience working in a tribal setting preferred. Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability as well as three-year motor vehicle report required. Clearance from Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Background check required.

  • Must be able to verbally interact with staff, patients, and the public.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Provides assessment, consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders.
  • Provides effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
  • Evaluates crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
  • Assists in the detection of “at risk” patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
  • Assists the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of chronic disease.
  • Designs and implements clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions as needed.
  • Must have the ability to work through brief patient contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
  • Maintains good working knowledge of psycho-pharmacology.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of compliance related to HIPAA, confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Utilizes departmental and organizational approved protocols and procedures for completing appropriate referrals to psychiatric consultants, inside & outside providers and/or inpatient programs.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of ethical and professional guidelines as described by profession and Marimn Health.
  • Demonstrates success and positive outcomes as a result of therapeutic outcomes through appropriate utilization of documentation related to care extended.
  • Completes documentation related to encounter in a professional and timely manner and completes charting within departmental policy and procedure.
  • Appropriate documentation includes: individualized client treatment plans and progress notes completed within departmental policy.
  • Actively participates in clinical support and supervision, as needed, with Marimn Health, Wellness Center, Clinical Staff, and Consulting Physician(s).
  • Actively participates in meetings that support Marimn Health’s integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care for clients.
  • Utilizes Marimn Health documentation standards and protocols appropriately and timely to ensure communication of progress and plan with other Marimn Health providers.
  • Participate actively in peer review and audits.
  • Maintains excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
  • Ability to effectively interact with supervisor, staff, and other Tribal Departments.
  • Verbal, non-verbal and written communication is professional and appropriate.
  • Excellent public relations skill.
  • Actively participates in Quality Improvement (QI) activities related to client care and is knowledgeable of QI activities related to the departmental goals and objectives.
  • Consults with Marimn Health departments regarding staff development. Develops and facilitates staff workshops as requested.
  • Presents workshops for patients in multi-disciplinary programs.
  • Provides clinical supervision (as appropriate) and consultation for other BHCs and FQHC teams in regard to building a primary care/behavioral health integration model.
  • Participates as a representative of Marimn Health at the national level as a member of the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association.
  • Represents Marimn Health at the local, regional and state levels with the Idaho Integrated Behavioral Health Network.
  • Other duties as assigned.
